The Night of The Prom

That much anticipated and long awaited event called the prom is right around the corner. You have been thinking about it for years and in order to make sure everything goes well on the night of the prom, make sure to double check everything. Is your perfect prom dress or tuxedo, along with any accessories, such as prom shoes, in perfect shape? Have you checked and double checked that all transportation arrangements have been made? Be sure to have a check list so that you will have less of a chance of something going wrong.

Having a limo to arrive in when you pick up your date is not a necessity for a perfect prom; however, many young people do choose this option. If it is a little too expensive for you then consider sharing the cost with other friends who are taking dates. Make sure that you have arranged for everyone to be picked up and that the company is aware of all destinations throughout the night. Don't forget that gorgeous corsage that you purchased for your date. The one that matches her prom gown perfectly, remember?

Sometimes couples choose to go out to dinner first on the night of the prom. This is not mandatory but it can be a lot of fun and a way to talk and calm down a little before the actual dance. It is always a good idea to make reservations, as sometimes more than one school is having a prom on the same night and this will negate the embarrassment of having to find another location on short notice.

Some schools have what is called an all night prom, which means that after the dance there will be other activities going on. Often high school proms are held at a ballroom or some location other than the school, but the apres prom party may be held back at the school. If you are attending the after party, then make sure your transportation arrangement includes a ride to that location as well.

If there are going to be different activities during an after prom event, then you may want to consider having a change of clothes ready for this part of the night of the prom, depending on what activities you will be participating in. Changing from your formal prom dress and shoes into something else is more comfortable and will avoid something happening to your dress. The same goes for tuxedos, as most of them are rented and if they are not returned in good condition, then additional fees will be charged.
