Fancy Dress Ideas – Top Costumes

Some popular Disney films and cartoons are Shrek, Buzz Lightyear, Peter Pan, Pocahontas, Robin Hood, and The Wizard of Oz, as well as loads more. Think of your favourite Disney character, either classic or recent, and you can probably get a costume for it.
Due to the success of the Pirates of the Caribbean film trilogy pirate costumes are very popular. You can get pirate costumes for girls and boys in all sorts of different styles, as well as specific character costumes, such as Captain Jack Sparrow. Pirate costumes are also quite easy to make with a few accessories to help, such as an eye patch, a bandana or a pirate hat.
Another great fancy dress idea for a theme is the Moulin Rouge, which has become popular because of the movie starring Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor. There are some fantastic Moulin Rouge costumes available to buy, that are provocative and fun to wear. Think of feathers, fishnet stockings, and showgirls and you can imagine a Moulin rouge costume.
Other film based fancy dress themes include the classic movie The Wizard of Oz, as there is a whole cast of well-known characters on which to base a costume. Dorothy is the most obvious Wizard of Oz character and the easiest costume but there are also costumes available for the other characters, the wizard, the Tin Man, the Lion, the Scarecrow, the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch. This is a fantastic theme as the costumes are so much fun and so recognisable.
Another favourite movie-based theme is Star Wars. There are Star Wars costumes available for nearly all the characters so your fancy dress party will be fun and varied. From classic Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia costumes to more recent film characters such as the fabulous Darth Maul. Another extremely popular Star Wars costume for women is the white Padme Amidala outfit.
Another fantastic theme for top costumes is Super heroes, from films or the original comic books. This is a fabulous theme for both kids and adults, as there are lots of super hero costumes available to buy. Some examples are Spiderman, Batman, Mr Incredible, Iron Man, The Thing, and Wonder Woman.
