Bachelorette Party Ideas

September 17, 2008 · Posted in Adult Parties · Comment

Getting married can be a blast, especially when you get to participate in a fun Bachelorette party! To make your Bachelorette party a ton of fun, consider these party ideas.

Last Tasks

One of the most hilarious (and often embarrassing) things you can plan for a Bachelorette party is a last tasks game. In this game, the bride and her attendants each get a list of “last tasks”. You can be creative to design what tasks to include.

Each girl must complete her list of tasks by the end of the party. You can include things like dancing like a chicken, asking a stranger to buy you a drink or other silly tasks. Just be sure to keep it safe and legal!

Scavenger Hunt

Another spin on the last tasks party game can be the Bachelorette scavenger hunt. In this game, the group is divided into two parts. Each part has a list of things they must obtain throughout the night. Whichever group collects everything first, wins!

Halloween Party Ideas Kids Will Love

September 15, 2008 · Posted in Holiday Parties, Party Supplies · Comment

Every child should host at least one Halloween party in their lifetime. While not all kids are lucky enough to do so, if you’re willing to allow your children the opportunity they will love you for it! Use these Halloween party ideas to make their ghostly party a raging success!

Food Ideas

For your ghoulish event, think about doing a few holiday themed food choices. Along with the normal chips and dip, think about making spider treats. You can use either chocolate donut holes or chocolate round cakes as the spider body and add licorice for legs. Use red hot candies for the eyes and the kids will love it! Try serving Jello with gummy worms inside for adding flair!

Game Ideas

One fun game your kids will love is the mummy wrap. Create teams of three and give each team three rolls of toilet paper. Each team should choose one person to be their mummy. The remaining two players will be timed and will wrap their “mummy” with the toilet paper. At the end of the time limit, whoever has wrapped the mummy most completely will win. Only give the children about 30-45 seconds per group.

The Three Most Essential Party Decorations

When you’re planning a party, it can be overwhelming to think about all of the details. Most people choose to focus more on food and entertainment and leave the decorations out.

However, there are a few party decorations you should never skip! Choose a party theme (birthday, luau, anniversary, etc.) and get to work!

Eating Décor

Chances are you’re focused on what you’re serving at the party. So, to add easy and effortless décor to your event think about choosing theme related eating accessories. Plates, cups, napkins and utensils can quickly make your party look “put together” without you needing to give much energy to the process.

Lighting

One of the most fun parts of a party is the atmosphere. A party naturally has a fun and inviting ambiance, with music playing and people chatting. Why not spice it up even more with lighting effects? This requires a bit more energy, but the results are worth the time.

If you’re planning an outdoor party at night, think about stringing Christmas lights all around the area for added lighting. White twinkling lights can really make a party mood soar! If you’re indoors, you can still choose to use strings of lights. Or, you can purchase a party light ball. These balls act much like a disco ball and can be loads of fun!

Dance Costumes For Solo Appearances

Dance costumes are essential if or your child is in dance class, chances are you’ll be forced to purchase the costumes of the dance instructor’s choice. However, if they are performing a solo or in a solo competition, it’s different. You will be responsible for finding a solo dance costume. It can be an expensive and challenging endeavor, especially if you don’t know where to begin. Utilize these resources to help you learn where to start in your dance costume search!

Creating Your Own

Some dancers choose to create their own costumes. Most often those dancers who are performing to contemporary, jazz or hip hop will use dance wear they already own. These styles can easily be danced in most common dance class wear. However, ballet and ballroom styles often need specific dance attire.

Buying Online

One of the best places to purchase dance costumes is online. You can often find terrific deals on outlet sites. In addition, you may be able to find gently used costumes as well. Since most dancers are approximately the same size it can be easy to find someone who wants to unload their dance attire. In addition, since most competition wear is only worn once it can save you loads and give you a quality item to use.
